Patricia Field Collection for MCM!

Well of course because I am here in Miami.... sigh: I was not able to participate in the fabulous-ness that was the MCM collection by Patricia Field at her lovely home. Although, since I'm not the who's-who's of the fashion industry as of YET, I might not have been invited.. All well I would have gotten in some how, it you know what I mean.lol

On a brighter note the collection is all that I had hoped it would be: It still has the old school 80's vibe of the classic MCM construction, with a modern Patricia Field spin on it. I am in love beyond words. I would love to see these babies up close and personal. The newly constructed bag has taken on a lighter feel, with leather and canvas. The collection will range in price from $300 -$1,500, and will be sold at select Saks locations, as well as MCM and Patricia Field boutiques worldwide. Checkout my fav bags.

Madonna and her beautiful daughter Lourdes have created a fashion forward clothing line affectionately titled "material girl". Yes, I know the line launched August 3, 2010, but I have had the pleasure of seeing first hand the pieces, as it is sold exclusively to Macy's. I like the idea that the line is being sold at Macy’s because Macy’s has the major accessibility factor across America (I recently took a part-time gig with Macy's and that's one of the brands I work with).






The clothing line is most definitely taking a nod to Madonna's 80's days, with a fresh modern twist from her daughter.“It’s not complicated. It’s dressing in layers. It’s not looking like you took too much time thinking about what you’re wearing.”





"Material Girl" is for the young, fly, and fashionable, offering accessories, footwear, and apparel. I love the line, it's super chic pieces that you can mix and match, and did I mention the price point is amazing. Date Night Makeup & Wardrobe Ideas...

Date nights are always fun whether it be with your new boo, your long time lover or a blind date. What isn't so fun is picking out the perfect outfit, or putting the finishing touches on your makeup for that grand occasion. Don't fret my darling fashionista's, check out these great makeup and wardrobe tips for any date night.



For any date, keep it super simple and highlight one feature at a time. I'm almost postivie that NO guy in the world wants to sit next to or across from "bozo the clown." Apply foundation, or powder as you normally would, add a little Va-Va-boom with a thickening mascara like COVER GIRL Lash Blast and a matte or creamy lipstick like MAC Chatterbox. Add a glow to your face with a little blush and bronzer on your cheeks, and there you have it, a simple,easy and fun date night look.







Yes it can be hard to pick the perfect outfit when going on a date (especially if it's a blind date) and you want to make a good impression - since first impression's are the LASTING ones!



Blind Date: Go all out! Make sure to ask where you guys will be going on the date, that plays a big part in your ensemble. I'm sure that your potential suitor is going to lay it out for you! Take a que from pop princess Rihanna and pair a fitted dress, with a blazer and pumps or shoe booties. Now that the weather has cool down, this will be a great look for your first date.







Date Night with the New Boo: Since this is technically the "honeymoon" phase, looking good and well put together is still a big deal. Go the simple and chic route with cut off shorts, a graphic tee, heels and a show stopping jacket al-la Beyonce!







Also try a micro-mini paired with one of Fall's hottest trends a leather Bomber jacket, to complete the look add a pair of strappy sandals (if your like me in Miami where the weather is still warm enough) knee boots, or thigh high boots.







Date Night with your Long Time Lover: Being fashionable and looking your best is always a plus, and your significant other will definitely appreciate it. Although you and your beau have been together it seems like "FOREVER" doesn't mean that your date night outfit has to lack effort and luster. Take a more comfortable approach to date night, pair oxford flats, or a cute pair of ballet flats with tights, and a flowy top.







Pair these date night looks with a side of confidence and a smile and I'm sure there will be more dates to come!

Real Style!!

Normally when attending my University(Florida International University) I rarely see fashionable people, with the exception of myself and a selective handful! Today was different, as I breezed through the student union, I ran across this dapper dude, so of course I had to snap a photo! The Urban gentlemen paired tailor skinny leg trousers with a blue and white stripe shirt, with a blue,red and white pattern bow tie, for a great contrast. The Black shoes with black and white striped socks, gave the outfit a nice compare and contrast with the colors above, and to complete his look, chic bracelets and wavier glasses. Salute to this dapper dude, and his real style, such a refresh look.

Hidden Treasure! (Vintage Shopping is the BEST)

I've been on the hunt for a great Blazer, well a GREAT vintage Blazer, preferably a bold color.. Red or Turquoise, and Guest what I found one yayyyy!!! Miami has some great thrift stores, and little vintage boutiques, its just finding that hidden treasure before some other recessionta fashionista does. I took my time scanning the racks upon racks of old school coats, 80-ish boxy blazers, until I found my treasure.I was super geeked to say the least, couldn't wait to get it dry cleaned, and put that bad boy on. I found the perfect place to wear my new Blazer, I went to Dinner and Poetry night at a spot in downtown Hollywood, it was the perfect Miami weather. Check to see what I paired it with!

The Twenties Chronicles: Single, Fashionable and Living in the City!

I often posse the question Am I really living my life like I should in my twenties?We all have heard from a spicy, witty aunt, or from our mothers that in "In your twenties your suppose to  live life, dating, making mistakes, having fun etc etc." So with this steady playing in my mind, I find myself asking this question all the time, and I must say YES I am living my life, it may not be to my mother's liking or a friends liking, but I'm doing exactly what I think I should me doing for me TECARRA RENE'.  What does LIVING LIFE actually mean, doing  anything, random adventures, having a good time, or going on a series of dates, with different guys to really get the hang of the dating game or,to see what it is that you really like in the opposite sex!  I must admit that sometimes, just the boredom of my life does weigh heavy on my shoulders, and I start to rant and rave about how "my life is this and my life is that." but what I have to realize we as people create our own happiness, and that I should start doing what makes me HAPPY, and live in the moment! With this said I am living life, and using my twenties as a guide, to making better choices, learning from mistakes and knowing what NOT to do in my thirties...

Fashion Week Spring 2011 Re-cap!

Although I am a bit jealous that I am not in New York for Fashion Week, yes(I am still jealous and a bit salty lol). I am non-the-less pleased with most of the runway shows from some of my favorite designer's.

Christian Siriano Spring 2011

 Project Runway Winner Christian Siriano showed his Spring 2011 Line on Thursday Sept 9,2010. The Line was filled with crisp, clean white pieces, with the perfect hint of accents of brown leather. The structured pieces are great paired together, or worn as separates, I am totally in LOVE with the collection.  Siriano played with texture and patterns, constructing beautiful flowy gowns and tops! My fav is the Gold-greenish sequin deep v-neckline dress I D.I.E. in my Rachel Zoe voice..lol. I could totally see that walking down some red carpet for the Awards. Take a look at my fav pieces of the collection.

Derek Lam Spring 2011

I am drooling at the computer as I type I am so in LOVE with the Derek Lam Spring 2011 Collection. I love the contrast of men inspired pieces and tailoring, with soft sheer fabrics. The pairing of jean pieces together is brilliant, head-to-toe jean is making a comeback, and so are long dresses and skirts. The flowy chiffon dress is needed in my closet immediate for a random Miami night! checkout my fav looks below..

FASHION NIGHT OUT MIAMI

Miami this Miami that, South Beach this South Beach that! yeah yeah I know, although right NOW, I wish I was basking in the glow of the concrete jungle partaking in the FASHION WEEK festivities. Well guess what, I can actually get a dose of NYFW right here in my home town of Miami, Florida. Yes you heard me right, Miami! The second city that never sleeps has been stepping up their fashion game lately. Aventura Mall will be the host of Fashion Night out, Runway shows, drinks, food, and pumping tunes, oh and did I mention SALES SALES everywhere, umm since that is the whole purpose. FASHION NIGHT OUT RUNWAY SHOW 2010

Fashion Night Out is one of the most talked about events this upcoming FASHION WEEK, but the runway show that was held yesterday Sept 7, was sure to get juices flowing and the excitement for the rest of the week. We won't discuss my pure sadness and jealousy that I was unable to attend or let alone that I wasn't in the concrete jungle... big sigh... moving on, Lincoln Center was packed, with all kinds of FLYNESS, Naomi Campbell, Pharell performing oh and did I mention a double decker bus, when was the last time you saw some fly ish on a bus... well check the pics below.. P.S. I am in total LOVE with Pharell's Jacket!!!

Beauty 101: Flawless Skin

As summer is slowly fading away, Fall and Winter are rapidly approaching. Time to say goodbye to those wonderful summer tans, that make your skin look like the sun fell right on your body and kiss it, and time to say hello to pale winter skin. We all can't have makeup artist like the stars year round, to give us that glow, or keep our skin in picture perfect condition all the time, but guess what ladies don't fret I have 5 skin tips that are sure to have your skin looking healthy and  flawless this Fall and Winter season.

1. Start with a good facial cleanser: Aveeno is a great brand, try aveeno positively radiant face pads, or clear skin cleanser ( I use it myself faithfully lol) if you have acne try Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Eliminating, it works wonders.

2. Hydrate Hydrate Hydrate: You have to keep skin hydrated, drinking lots of water and eating a balance diet will help, go easy on the Hot showers, which tends to dry your skin out.

3. Moisturize: Keep skin moisturize, in winter months skin is easily prone to have that ash factor, to avoid that moisturize twice a day, and also use a moisturizer with SPF in it.

4.Choose a great foundation: Nothing is worse then looking extra ashy in the winter, so ladies make sure to choose a foundation that does not dry your skin out, if you have dry skin, try a foundation that is designed specifically for your skin type or try a creme foundation. If you have oily skin  use powder or mineral foundation. It will become your best friend, and work wonders. For normal skin you can wear powder, mineral, or creme foundation( I love classic tan press powder by cover girl ).

5. Bronzer and Blush: Apply bronzer on your t-zones cheeks, jaw line, temples, and bridge of nose, to give your skin that summer glow, for a extra boost add a little bit of blush on the apples of your cheeks.

 To keep skin healthy in the harsh Winter months, try these tips ladies, I'm sure you won't regret it.

I must say I'm a bit obsessed and bias when it comes to the R&B cronner Trey Songz, but seriously ladies who wouldn't be lol.. Songz is currently carrying the heir to the R&B throne title well, he is our times Marvin Gaye, Teddy P, with a splash of Prince and how dare I forget the Pied Piper Mr. Kelly himself. I've never seen a more charisma, charming, swag-a-lious man then Trey himself, the way he gazes into your eyes when he speaks is enough to melt any women's heart.. well mine anyway.. geeshhhh... His style is that of a Urban Mr. with a twist, a twist of edge and sophistication, not to mention his music can put you in the best mood, or a mood where you want to make love to your man all night.Sn: I wouldn't mind making love to him all night..
